Some photos!

Here are some of the photos I have taken. I'm going to try to take some more; I've been pretty bad about taking photos. Also, forgive me for not putting these in a particular order.

On my walk around the neighborhood with Dan, I thought this area looked nice. Maybe because it just isn't so crowded with people and cars?

Also along our walk, we crossed this canal. Earlier there were people fishing in it. I can't imagine they caught anything.

This was my meal at the "noodle place." I had beef and noodles and a beer. The teapot is filled with almost boiling water.

I took this photo for Daddy. What do you think of the power line system here? I saw one place where a box, which I guess was the transformer, was just sitting in a tree between two big, diverging branches.

Finally, because Karen was surprised that I hadn't talked about how crowded it is here, I have two photos of the busy traffic. This one is on what's called the third ring road. In Beijing, rather than having major roads set up in a grid format like most of NYC, the city is set up with roads that form concentric circles, each one bigger than the previous. I think there are 5 or 6 of them right now, and they're building more. We live between the 3rd ring road and the 4th ring road, and the office faces the 3rd.

This photo would be better at a higher angle. This is on a very narrow road. On most of these small roads, there are parallel parking spaces on one side, but people park halfway on the sidewalk on the other side, too. So there are situations like this one, where no one can go anywhere because there's no room to move.
